Kelly announces Shadow Minister for North Queensland

Federal Leader of the United Australia Party, Craig Kelly, announced today the appointment of Leichhardt candidate Dan Hannagan to the shadow ministry.

Under a Kelly government the Cairns-born business executive and community leader will be appointed to the new portfolio of Minister for North Queensland, ending years of government neglect for the region’s residents.

“For too long the people of North Queensland have lacked real representation, infrastructure development has suffered and with that so too has the economy,” Mr Kelly said.

“Dan Hannagan brings a wealth of real-world experience, leadership and passion to deliver jobs and prosperity to the people of North Queensland,” he said.

Married with three sons, Dan is an active member, past vice president and president of the Circular Economy FNQ (formally the Committee for Waste Reduction), ex member of the Barrier Reef Toastmasters and group leader at Freshwater Scouts.

He started his own martial arts academy at 18 years of age and has been actively involved in coaching and studying health and fitness.

From 2010 to 2020, Dan was Managing Director of Medalfield, a family-owned waste recycling and landfill company.

Dan is passionate about giving back to the North Queensland community, volunteering for numerous charity events and fundraisers.

Palmer to take legal action over claims he bought Hitler’s car

Palmer to take legal action over claims he bought Hitler’s car

Clive Palmer said today he would commence legal action against Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews for spreading outrageous fake news that he had purchased Adolf Hitler’s car.

Mr Palmer has also taken extreme offence to claims made by WA Labor MP Patrick Gorman about buying the car.

“These career politicians have all been sucked in by incompetent journalists reporting fake news,” Mr Palmer said.

“I have not purchased a car that belonged to Adolf Hitler.

“These outrageous lies have caused considerable damage to my reputation and I will be bringing the people responsible to account through the courts.

Mr Palmer said the extraordinary attacks highlighted how out of touch politicians had become.

“The Liberal-Labor alliance is struggling for relevance and rather than concentrate on the issues that really matter, are too busy engaging in mud-slinging and pushing lies to damage the reputation of anybody who threatens to upset the status quo,’’ he said.

Craig Kelly announces Lower House candidates for Federal Election

Craig Kelly announces Lower House candidates for Federal Election

Media release

FEDERAL Leader of the United Australia Party, Craig Kelly, announced today the party had endorsed 150 House of Representatives candidates to contest the upcoming Federal Election.

Mr Kelly said the United Australia Party was receiving strong support and was confident the party would be part of the Government following the election.

“Now more than ever we need to protect our country’s prosperity and economic outlook,’’ Mr Kelly said.

“The biggest threat to the future of Australia is the increase in interest rates resulting from the debt of over $1 trillion that Scott Morrison’s Liberals and Labor have contributed to.

“The stark reality is when interest rates rise by 4%, 70% of Australians will experience mortgage stress or failure.

“This will result in losses of homes, the property market will fall and we will see Australia succumb to foreign ownership by China and North America,’’ Mr Kelly said.

“Last week, I announced our finance team headed by Clive Palmer, one of Australia’s most successful business people, as Shadow Treasurer and former Deloitte CEO Domenic Martino as Shadow Finance Minister.

“Mr Palmer and Mr Martino bring a wealth of real-world experience to deliver economic prosperity to Australia.

“Comparing the combined experience of the United Australia Party’s finance team with that of the Labor apparatchik and Josh Frydenberg, it’s chalk and cheese.”

Mr Kelly said the United Australia Party would protect Australia and pay back the entire debt.

“While makeover Albo does nothing and Scotty from marketing shows no moral compass, we see that Mr Palmer has personally created over 60,000 jobs and more than $4 billion of exports for Australia,’’ he said.

“Our country needs a tough, robust financial position to put our best foot forward to secure a bright future for all.

“Next week, Mr Palmer will address the National Press Club where he will announce the Party’s financial blueprint to secure our financial future in the face of a pending national crisis that the Prime Minister and Labor don’t recognise or simply ignore.

“A cynic could say the last two year’s economic performance has been designed for the coming destruction of the economy and individual hardships. Only intervention by a future United Australia Party will save our country,’’ Mr Kelly said.

Kelly confirms shadow finance team

Kelly confirms shadow finance team

CANBERRA: Federal Leader of the United Australia Party, Craig Kelly, announced today the party’s shadow finance team would deliver prosperity and a debt-free future for Australia.
Under a Kelly Government, leading Australian businessman and former Federal MP Clive Palmer will be appointed Treasurer while former Deloittes CEO and company advisor Domenic Martino will become Finance Minister.
“Clive Palmer, our national Senate Leader, and Domenic Martino who is the lead NSW Senate candidate for the United Australia Party, bring a wealth of real-world experience to deliver economic prosperity to Australia,” Mr Kelly said.
Mr Kelly said Clive Palmer was one of Australia’s wealthiest citizens with an outstanding business career.
“He has been responsible for the delivery of tens of billions of export dollars to the Commonwealth, created over 60,000 jobs and was named the Mining Entrepreneur of the Decade in 2012 by Government Australia Magazine.
“In 2012 Mr Palmer was elected by the popular vote of the Australian people as a National Living Treasure, awarded by the National Trust.
“He is an achiever and a doer, unlike the current treasurer Josh Frydenberg and the shadow treasurer Jim Chalmers who have no notable experience in the business and commercial world.
“The Liberal-Labor coalition has no idea about reducing debt and returning the country to prosperity. It’s time for a change,” Mr Kelly said.
Domenic Martino is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is an experienced director of ASX-listed companies and a respected company adviser.
“Under Mr Palmer and Mr Martino, the United Australia Party’s finance team will eliminate the $1 trillion debt that has been accumulated up by the Liberal-Labor coalition.
“Only the United Australia Party has the real-world experience, economic plans and policies to rid Australia of its debt burden and deliver business freedoms and prosperity for all,” Mr Kelly said.
“The facts are the Liberal and Labor parties are joined at the hip.
“It’s the Liberal and Labor Parties that have destroyed families, small businesses and jobs.
“They have lost support from Australians suffering from lockdowns, economic restrictions and closures.
“The Liberal-Labor Coalition have no real financial plan that allows Australia to be the lucky country. They have only held back our country back.
“The United Australian Party has real people with real experience to protect freedoms and make Australia great,” he said.
Mr Kelly said further shadow ministers would be announced in the coming weeks.

Palmer blasts ‘gestapo’ tactics of SA Police

Palmer blasts ‘gestapo’ tactics of SA Police

Clive Palmer has blasted the ‘gestapo’ tactics of South Australian police who last night (Tuesday, February 1) disbanded a United Australia Party member’s meeting at the Port Lincoln Hotel.
Mr Palmer said the heavy-handed tactics of the SA Police was just another example of an overreaching government determined to strip the freedoms and liberties from every day Australians.
“The meeting was authorised and all appropriate protocols were followed,” Mr Palmer said.
“It is a very sad indictment on the SA Government to send in the police to stifle the democratic process.
“They are obviously threatened by the United Australia Party, now the largest political party in Australia with over 80,000 members, and our resolve to break the Liberal-Labor alliance and deliver freedom back to all Australians.”
The Port Lincoln meeting was for members to meet the United Australia Party’s candidate for the electorate of Grey, Suzanne Waters.
Suzanne is an ambulance worker who was stood down as a result of the vaccine mandates. She is a hard-working mother of eight children who joined the United Australia Party to fight for a better future for her family.
The United Australia Party’s lead Senate candidate for SA, Michael Arbon, said the incident highlighted the lengths the government would go to silence alternative points of view.
“Only the United Australia Party can restore Australia to the shining beacon of freedom that is should be,” he said.

Labor copies United Australia Party’s fast rail policy

Media release

Labor copies United Australia Party’s fast rail policy

Clive Palmer said today Labor leader Anthony Albanese’s fast rail policy mirrored what the United Australia Party had announced in 2019.
“It is flattering that Anthony Albanese has copied our policy,” United Australia Party Chairman, Mr Palmer said.
“The United Australia Party advertised our fast rail policy heavily at the last election to increase efficiency, boost the economy and create jobs.
“Now the ALP is getting onboard and even using United Australia Party language such as ‘tyranny of distance’.
“We wish they had copied our policy earlier,” Mr Palmer said.
“All Australians should support the original fast rail policy and vote for the United Australia Party in the upcoming Federal Election,” Mr Palmer said.

United Australia Party celebrates 90th Anniversary

Media release

United Australia Party celebrates 90th Anniversary

The United Australia Party has reached a major milestone, celebrating 90 years since forming the government of Australia, chairman Clive Palmer announced today.

“We are very pleased to announce that we are officially celebrating 90 years since this great party first held government under our inaugural Prime Minister, Joseph Lyons,” Mr Palmer said.

“We are also commemorating other United Australia Party leaders who were Prime Ministers of Australia in Billy Hughes and Sir Robert Menzies.”

The United Australia Party secured a landslide victory in the 1931 Federal Election, with Lyons being appointed the 10th Prime Minister of Australia in January 1932.

The party would be reelected at the 1934 and 1937 Federal Elections, and see two more United Australia Party leaders in Sir Robert Menzies and Billy Hughes become Prime Minister.

“Today, the United Australia Party is once again a major force in federal politics. We have grown into Australia’s largest political party and the only party standing in all 151 seats in the House of Representatives at the next election,” Mr Palmer said.

“The United Australia Party saved Australia from the depression and now we are in a position to save it again under our new leader Craig Kelly.

“The United Australia Party’s is now fully focused on seeing Craig Kelly elected as Prime Minister and having as many of our candidates elected to parliament as possible.

“It’s quite amazing, after 90 years, that our leader and member for Hughes will be running for re-election in the seat that bears the name of one of our former leaders in Billy Hughes.

“We also have many descendants of our former leaders who are continuing the legacy today as proud members of the United Australia Party.

“We thank all our members and supporters for getting behind the United Australia Party.  We have a strong resolve not to let them down,” Mr Palmer said.

Liberals and Labor spreading misinformation: Palmer

Media release

Liberals and Labor spreading misinformation: Palmer

The Liberal-Labor alliance is trying to create controversy by spreading misinformation about the United Australia Party’s preference arrangements, said chairman Clive Palmer.

“As expected, the Liberals and Labor are trying to create controversy and peddle misinformation about us – most recently about our preference arrangements,” Mr Palmer said.

“To enable real change we have to change the government. The United Australia Party’s main goal is to see Craig Kelly elected as Prime Minister and have as many of our candidates elected to parliament as possible.

“We have already announced that our first preference will go to the Liberal Democrats, and are currently negotiating our second preference.

“However, we cannot finalise all our preferences until the candidates are known.

“Craig Kelly, the national executive and I considered our preference exchanges very carefully.

“One thing we unanimously agreed upon is to put the Liberals, Labor and the Greens at the bottom of our ticket in all electorates.

“Any suggestion to the contrary is completely false. There is no difference between the Liberals and Labor,” Mr Palmer said.

“While we admire the individual courage of MPs who have crossed the floor or supported Craig Kelly and his bills to throw out vaccine mandates, ban vaccine passports and protect our children, the Liberals, Labor, the Nationals and the Greens are oppressors of the people and must be removed from parliament at the next election.

“As Craig Kelly says, the whole political class has turned against the people. We know we can never trust the Liberals, Labor the Greens or Nationals again,” Mr Palmer said.

Palmer to challenge Andrews’ unconstitutional pandemic laws

Media release

Palmer to challenge Andrews’ unconstitutional pandemic laws

Chairman of the United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, has vowed to fight the Victorian Government’s contentious pandemic legislation in the courts, blasting them as draconian and undemocratic.

Daniel Andrews’ controversial new laws will come into effect from December 16 after passing Victoria’s upper house today, a move which should be deeply concerning for all Australians who value liberty and freedom, Mr Palmer said.

The laws give the government legal basis for lockdowns, mandatory mask wearing, vaccine mandates and curfews.

“These laws are unconstitutional and infringe the rights of all Australians. They are a major overaction and yet another sad reminder of the Andrews Government’s totalitarian approach,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“I would have no hesitation in mounting a court challenge to fight these laws. Discussions are already underway with my legal team,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Mr Palmer said only the United Australia Party was committed to protecting the values that have been built and developed in Australia since federation.

“We will be putting freedom over fear, liberty over lockdowns and choice over compulsion,’’ he said.

“Our party will protect the constitution and the rule of law, which underpins our democratic society and protects the rights, freedoms and liberties of every Australian citizen,’’ he said.
