United Australia Party vows to end lockdowns
Lockdowns served no purpose other than to destroy businesses, jobs and the Australian standard of living, chairman of the United Australia Party, Clive Palmer said today.
Mr Palmer said the United Australia Party was committed to opening the economy, opening the borders and providing encouragement, confidence and incentives for business to thrive.
“Free trade between the states and free movement of people must be reinstated,” Mr Palmer said.
“Section 92 of the Australian constitution provides for the absolute free movement of people across state borders.
“The Federal Government must ensure this happens by exercising their federal jurisdiction and protecting the constitutional right of all Australians.”
Mr Palmer cited recent findings by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which showed that 74% (346 people) of those in the study were infected with COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated with two injections of Pfizer, Moderna or Janssen.
The majority of those (274 people) displayed symptoms such as cough, sore throat and fever and four of those fully vaccinated people were hospitalised.
“Fully vaccinated people can still become infected and can still pass the virus on to others. This is a clear demonstration that the vaccine program is ineffective at preventing the spread of COVID-19 or its variants,” Mr Palmer said.
“Therefore, regardless of how many people are vaccinated it will not assist public health efforts.
“In Israel – where 80% of people are vaccinated – 70% of people hospitalised with COVID-19 have been double vaccinated,’’ Mr Palmer said.
“The lockdowns serve no purpose. They destroy jobs, break up families and cause mental distress.
“We can never trust the Liberals, Labor or the Greens again. Join the United Australia Party to stop the lockdowns,” Mr Palmer said.
