Media release
Federal leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, said he will contest his seat of Fairfax on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast at the next federal election.
“Reports by Fairfax Media that I have made preference deals with two crossbenchers to switch to the Senate at the next election are not true,” Mr Palmer said.
“I will contest the seat of Fairfax and continue to represent my Sunshine Coast community.
“I have beaten the Liberal Party’s candidate Ted O’Brien at an election once and I will beat him again.
“I’m not a career politician like Mr O’Brien, I’m just one Australian trying to make a difference for the residents of Fairfax and all Australians,” he said.
