Australia Needs a Parliament that Works Together: Clive Palmer

Federal Member for Fairfax

Media release

Federal leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, said Australia needs a Parliament that works together to bring about real change instead of fighting amongst each other.

Mr Palmer said another week in Parliament has passed where Liberal and Labor continue to argue.

“All they do is verbally bash each other at every opportunity,” Mr Palmer said.

“Mind you, it’s a stark contrast to the past few weeks where they were standing up for each other over the entitlements scandal, with both sides trying to hide their own inappropriate use of the public purse.

“This seems to be the only issue where our Parliament has unity, to protect each other when it comes to keeping their snouts in the troughs.”

Mr Palmer said Australia needs a Parliament that will work together, not for their personal gains but for new ideas to move our country forward.

“Politicians on all sides of the house should be working together for the betterment of Australia and Australians,” he said.

“The Palmer United Party is committed to bringing new ideas and new people to Parliament, to produce fresh ideas and make a real difference for the future of our country and everyday Australians.”
