Federal leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, has hit back at accusations levelled at him by Ted O’Brien saying the LNP candidate would be a puppet of the government and a pensioner’s worst enemy.
“Of course I would expect the LNP-endorsed candidate for Fairfax to attack me and what the Palmer United Party has achieved,’’ Mr Palmer said.
“However the truth is that Ted O’Brien supports everything that the Liberal Party dictates to him, which means an attack on pensioners.
“All the Liberals want to do is make Australians work longer and change indexation to destroy the future of pensioners.
“Ted O’Brien has no plan to fix this as he will only ask the questions that his party allows him to.
“He has run for parliament on three or four other occasions, being parachuted into various seats over time, without success.
“He doesn’t care about the people of Fairfax which is why he wasn’t elected last time and won’t be in the future,’’ Mr Palmer said.
