Palmer United to be led by Strong Leader at Qld Election

Media release

The federal leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, says a strong leader will lead the party at the next Queensland election.

Mr Palmer has confirmed the Member for Yeerongpilly, Carl Judge, will no longer be the state leader of the Palmer United Party.

“Mr Judge wants to stand re-election in his current seat and therefore he could not stand for the Palmer United Party as the party had decided not to contest Yeerongpilly at the 2015 election,” he said.

Mr Palmer confirmed the new state leader of Palmer United Party would be announced with additional endorsed Queensland election candidates late next week.

“The party needs a real leader able to deliver real results for all Queenslanders,” he said.

Mr Palmer thanked Mr Judge for standing in as leader following the departure of Alex Douglas earlier this year.

“I wish Mr Judge well standing as an independent in Yeerongpilly,” he said.
