Palaszczuk uses Labor Party to hide from criminal activity, worse than Fitzgerald Inquiry

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has used the Labor Party to hide from potential criminal charges yet has attacked Clive Mensink regarding a civil warrant, Clive Palmer said in Townsville today.

“The finding by the Crime and Corruption Commission that Annastacia Palaszczuk had committed a criminal act by using public resources to boost her politically was of serious concerns to all Queenslanders,” Mr Palmer said.

“The question must be asked if she is hiding behind her office. It seems only a matter of time when there will there be a private criminal prosecution against Ms Palaszczuk to bring her before the court to account for the alleged criminal actions.

“It is unprecedented in Queensland history that the CCC has made the finding against a Premier and she has not stepped aside.

“I would call upon her to have respect for her office and allow for an independent investigation and for her to face the charges that may be brought against her.

“It seems she’s facing up to seven years in jail. She is the last person that should attack anybody. She needs to resign.

“It’s pretty serious when the Labor Party-appointed Speaker wants to investigate her and she uses her Labor party members of parliament to stop him.

“She needs to put the people of Queensland before herself and do the right thing and step aside. Her actions are far worse than anything discovered in the Fitzgerald Inquiry,” Mr Palmer said.
