New PM, same broken promises: Clive Palmer

Media release

Federal leader of the Palmer United Party, Clive Palmer, said today that integrity needed to be reinstalled to Australian politics, following the cutting down of the last two Labor prime ministers by Bill Shorten.

But Mr Palmer said no matter who was in charge of the ALP, the people of Australia could expect the same broken promises.

“In the 1960s, Sir Robert Menzies indentified that Labor and its politicians were controlled by faceless men,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“In 2013 we know who that faceless person is. It is Bill Shorten, the man who knifed Kevin Rudd in the back in 2010 and who has now knifed Julia Gillard in the back.

“A complying Kevin Rudd has been reinstated but he will be nothing more than another puppet on a string.

“It might be a new person warming the seat but unfortunately all we will get is more of the same broken promises,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Mr Palmer said Australian voters were fed up with being taken for granted by the major parties whose policies were essentially the same.

“Australia needs a true change of government, one which brings fresh ideas and can look after the aspirations of all Australians.

“The only way to reinstall integrity into Australian politics is to vote for the Palmer United Party,’’ he said.
