The Palmer United Party Senate team has unanimously elected Dio Wang to the position of Senate Whip, party leader and member for Fairfax Clive Palmer has announced.

Mr Palmer said the WA senator-elect was a natural choice for guiding the Palmer United Party and allied AMEP group which will form a voting bloc when the new Australian Senate convenes in July.

“Dio is a shining example of what can be achieved in this country with hard work and a great attitude,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“I am very proud to announce that Dio will be the Senate Whip and I am confident he will do an outstanding job maintaining party discipline and ensuring our official policies are held to.

“Dio has achieved this position less than a decade after he came to Australia from China.
