Anzac Day as important today as ever, says Clive Palmer

Federal Member for Fairfax

Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer MP, is urging all Australians to support Anzac Day activities in their area and give thanks to the men and women who sacrificed so much to preserve the freedom we enjoy today.

Mr Palmer will be attending a number of Anzac Day functions in his electorate, including a dawn service and a march to pay tribute to the Anzacs.

He said April 25th is, and always will be, a day when Australians remember the fallen and give thanks to those who still serve and protect Australia in all corners of the world.

“Anzac Day is a time for reflection; a day for all Australians to cherish their freedom and give thanks to those who fought to defend it,” Mr Palmer said.

“That freedom still requires our vigilance and we thank the men and women of the Australian armed forces who protect everything we hold dear as a nation.

“Many of the characteristics Australians are renowned for were forged by the spirit of the Anzacs. Mateship, loyalty and standing by each other in times of adversity – our country was built on these values.

“I hope all Australians take time to reflect and ponder just how important this day is in our national calendar,” Mr Palmer said.
