Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, has awarded the Australian Government Certificate of Appreciation to dedicated volunteer Jan O’Halloran, who gives up her time, energy and skills to assist at the Sunshine Coast Riding for the Disabled School at North Arm.

Jan, who has been a volunteer at the school since 2003, plays a key role in many areas of the school’s administration, including coaching, mentoring and handling communications initiatives.

Mr Palmer said Jan was a shining example of someone who selflessly gives their time to assist others in the community.

“Jan O’Halloran plays a huge part in making our community a stronger and more inclusive place thanks to her dedication, compassion and commitment. She is an outstanding role model and I am delighted to recognise her with this award,” Mr Palmer said.

“Australia is fortunate to have such an extensive army of volunteers who freely give their time for the benefit of others. Awards such as this are well-deserved and show how much fantastic volunteers like Jan O’Halloran are valued by the community.”
