Newman exchanges preferences with Palmer and Kelly

The extreme measures adopted by Annastacia Palaszczuk had caused former foes to come together to fight for freedom of choice and democracy, former Queensland Premier Campbell Newman said today.

United Australia Party Chairman Clive Palmer has confirmed that the United Australia Party would exchange preferences with the Liberal Democrats in the Senate and the House of Representatives at next year’s federal election.

“We can never trust the Liberals, Labor or The Greens again,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Craig Kelly provides the best hope for all Australians to lead the country and I thank the Liberal Democrats for their support.”

Senate leader for the Liberal Democrats in Queensland, Mr Newman, said: “At this time of national crisis we need to end the Canberra nonsense and establish real leadership for Australia. We need to give back the freedom to choose, freedom of expression and freedom of speech.”

Mr Palmer and Mr Newman encourage all parties to come together to fight against the destruction of the lives and businesses of all Queenslanders, and recommend to their supporters that they back the United Australia Party and Liberal Democrats in any House of Representatives contests where either or both are standing.
