Federal Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, is encouraging his constituents to play an active role in nominating deserving dads for the Queensland Father of the Year award.
The aim of the award is to recognise the significant role fathers play in their children’s wellbeing and development, while highlighting the value of fathers in both the family and the broader community.
The award identifies and honours outstanding fathers for their exceptional commitment to raising their children, or for their exemplary contribution to the development of children in the community.
“Our community is full of dedicated fathers who go above and beyond the call of duty to help and inspire others. They stand as great role models,” Mr Palmer said.
“This award represents a great opportunity for those who are either the recipients of such kindness, or know someone who is deserving of recognition, to act and put forward a nomination. It’s a great way to show the noble work of our community’s finest.”
Nominees may include natural fathers, adoptive fathers, step fathers, foster fathers and grandfathers raising their grandchildren (acting as their father).
