Federal Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, is delighted to confirm that Commonwealth funding has been secured for the Airman Aircrew Association under the Saluting Their Service Commemorations Programme.
The Saluting Their Service Commemorations programme aims to honour the sacrifice and service of Australia’s service men and women in wars, conflicts and peace operations, and to promote appreciation of the role those who have served played in shaping the nation.
The Airman Aircrew Association has received funding of $2,750 to purchase an Airman Aircrew Association banner to commemorate 100 years of military aviation service.
Mr Palmer said he was very pleased that funding had been allocated to such an important community organisation as the Airman Aircrew Association.
“It’s vital we preserve our wartime heritage and history through projects and programmes such as Saluting Their Service,” Mr Palmer said.
“These grants allow not-for-profit organisations to build or maintain programs, commemorate important moments in history and provide a space for veterans to socialise, reconnect with long-lost friends as well as offer support in times of need.”
