Labor is a sinking ship

Media release

Labor is a sinking ship

This week’s sudden departures of Queensland Government Ministers Kate Jones, Anthony Lynham and Coralee O’Rourke proved Labor is a sinking ship, Clive Palmer said today.

“Following the disastrous decisions by Queensland’s chief health officer Jeanette Young and the Queensland Government, Labor parliamentarians are jumping ship weeks out from the election,” Clive Palmer said.

Mr Palmer said the heartless decision to not allow a dying man to see his four children showed the damage to families and society caused by Queensland Labor’s irrational policies.

“Australians should be allowed access to all Australian hospitals. Families shouldn’t be separated,’’ he said

“Although these ministers aren’t of my political persuasion, I respect and support their decision.

“They realize the lies being told to Queenslanders about borders and the Marxist treatment of humans isn’t worth trying to win votes.

“Why do Labor state governments always only look at the negative?” Mr Palmer said.

“Even the left wing CFMEU have distance themselves from Labor.

“Queenslanders, vote for anyone but Labor this coming election. A vote for Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party is a vote for freedom for all Australians and a party that promotes Australia enterprise and growth.

“We need a new deal for Queensland based on enterprise. We need to cut the red tape, eliminate payroll tax and eliminate land tax to make our State stronger and more competitive, and provide employment for our people.

“The current government can’t do that, it doesn’t listen, it’s not interested in big projects and it has no idea about wealth creation,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Queensland Labor Government abuses taxpayer funds

Media release

Queensland Labor Government abuses taxpayer funds

Clive Palmer has accused the Queensland Labor Government of abusing taxpayer funds with its big-spending advertising campaign to win votes.

“It is a gross abuse of taxpayers’ dollars in a bid to get Labor re-elected for another four years when this money should have been spent on schools and hospitals,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“You can be confident the spending is being done with Labor-aligned advertising agencies who will be cashed up after this major splurge.

“It is so hypocritical when the Labor Government has done everything to restrict other parties having a say by capping their spending,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Many of our children don’t have any future for themselves or any enterprises to go into, that’s why we have to give Labor the boot.”

Free our people: Clive Palmer

Media release

Free our people: Clive Palmer

Clive Palmer today called on all State Premiers to free their communities and allow the nation to properly function.

“There is nothing more certain than the fact that the Labor Premiers are destroying the nation’s economy and wellbeing,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“If this continues, Australia will never be able to repay the debt and we will become a third world country.

“The facts are that we have no active cases in South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory, only three active cases in WA and 29 in Queensland. We have 25 million people in this country. Our lives shouldn’t be destroyed by Marxism.”

Mr Palmer said the Queensland Premier’s heartless decision to not allow a dying man to see his four children showed the damage to families and society caused by irrational policies.

“All Australians should be allowed access to all Australian hospitals. Families shouldn’t be separated,’’ he said

“We are seeing eight suicides per week in WA alone, that’s more than 400 per year. The social damage is incomprehensible.

“The Victorian Premier the WA Premier have been caught out lying about medical advice.

When JobSeeker and JobKeeper expire, we only have our economy to fall back on to protect us,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“I call on Annastacia Palaszczuk to immediately open our borders so that trade and commerce can be resume, so we can create jobs and so our tourism industry can survive.

“Our people have been devastated and the Premier only seems to care about votes. The people of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast and tourism operators in the north of the state have been decimated. The Premier only cares about people in South East Queensland.

“She only cares about being re-elected because she knows she is unemployable in the commercial world.

“Labor is always negative. They are ruining Queensland lives,” Mr Palmer said

Polls confirm LNP support dropping

Media release

Polls confirm LNP support dropping

An extensive poll across Queensland last night confirmed that Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington, who has decided to jump on Labor’s lockdown plan, has lost further support.

The LNP was now polling at 31% and the Palaszczuk Government at 37%, the chairman of Clive Palmers’ United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, confirmed in Brisbane today.

“We need a new deal for Queenslanders, a new deal that delivers future growth, prosperity and jobs.

“It’s time that we opened our borders to states with zero or very low active cases of COVID-19,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“There are no active cases in South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT or Northern Territory and only four in WA.

“It’s time the Queensland Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington stopped supporting disastrous policies implemented by Labor which are destroying our economy.

“The mini budget released by the Labor Government fails to provide any hope, growth or employment prospects,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“It seems the Premier wants to blame the negative economic performance and increased debt solely on the virus and not her government.

“Labor is negative, they offer no drive and brightness of future. The Premier is only interested in votes and being re-elected for four years.

“She is hoping that JobKeeper and JobSeeker provided by the Federal Government protects her.

“Politicians should be working for the people not themselves.

This Labor governments destroying the livelihoods of millions of people,’’ Mr Palmer said

McGowan and Quigley getting ready to reopen WA border: Palmer

Media release

McGowan and Quigley getting ready to reopen WA border: Palmer

Following agreement by the State of Western Australia that the hard border challenge would be heard by the High Court of Australia in November, it was clear WA would open its border beforehand, Clive Palmer said.

“Mark McGowan does not want to be shown up as a loser and he knows he is misleading the people of Western Australia for the Labor Party’s political purpose,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“McGowan will open the borders prior to the High Court hearing. You can always back self-interest as the motivation of McGowan.

“McGowan and Quigley are running scared with Crown Law pleading in submissions  made to the High Court of Australia  today that the contempt charges against them should not be heard until after the proceedings on the hard borders,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“This is just another attempt to avoid the truth.  They know once they open the borders the High Court has no reason to proceed with the matter and they are hoping their contempt charges will never be heard.

“With eight suicides every week in Western Australia and domestic violence up 300 percent it is so important the borders are open to save lives.

“The fact remains that there have been zero transmissions of the virus in Western Australia from interstate,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Today there are zero active cases of COVID-19 in South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.

“Western Australia still has three active cases so there is no reason why WA should not immediately open its borders to the states where the virus has been eliminated completely.

“Despite all he has said about me I bear Mark McGowan and John Quigley no hard feelings.

“I wish them and their families well. They are just politicians doing what politicians do. But now they have an opportunity to save lives and reduce domestic violence and create jobs.

“They should do what is right for the community. Their hatred of me despite the fact I never met them should not stand in their way of keeping families together, saving lives and creating jobs and economic prosperity,’’ Mr Palmer said.

A new deal for Queensland

Media release

A new deal for Queensland

Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party has vowed to deliver a new deal for Queensland to cut red tape, create jobs and get the economy moving again.

“It is a serious problem we face in Queensland,’’ Party leader Clive Palmer said.

“The economy is teetering on a knife’s edge and our people are in mass unemployment. Our tourism industry has been decimated. It’s a very worrying prospect to think about what’s going to happen when JobKeeper inevitably stops.”

Mr Palmer said Queensland was in a bad position under Annastacia Palaszczuk’s Labor government, made worse by her politicizing of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Queensland’s debt is over $100 million, there’s no real hope for people.  10,000 people have lost their jobs on the Gold Coast alone.

“Putting the virus aside, we have to get the Queensland economy moving again.

“Our party has   great State Leader in Greg Dowling in Townsville.  I’m confident he’ll be elected.  He received over 20% of the vote when he stood for mayor and I’m sure people will rally behind him,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Many of our children don’t have any future for themselves or any enterprises to go into, that’s why we have to give Labor the boot.”

WA needs to open its borders: Clive Palmer

Media release

WA needs to open its borders: Clive Palmer

With COVID cases on the decline and Australia now in the worst recession since the Second World War, Clive Palmer has urgently called on WA Premier Mark McGowan to re-open the State border.

“As coronavirus cases continue to reduce and given the fact that we are now in the worst recession since World War II, it is essential the borders are open so we can get the economy moving again,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“We have to be concerned about our fellow citizens and what these closures are doing to them.

“Look at the numbers. WA has only around five active cases, yet there has been 400 suicides in the last 12 months, approximately eight people a week tragically taking their own lives, and domestic violence has soared by 400%.

“The Premier needs to open the borders. The question must be asked, why shouldn’t the borders be open to states and territories where there are zero active cases such as the ACT, Northern Territory, South Australia and Tasmania?”

“All states need to listen to the Federal Government which wishes to initiate a uniform set of procedures at this difficult time.

“Why do Labor state governments always only look at the negative?” Mr Palmer said.

“McGowan is only politicizing the issue to win votes at the next election.”

Western Australian Parliament attacks the Rule of Law – North Korea Laws in Australia

Media release

Western Australian Parliament attacks the Rule of Law – North Korea Laws in Australia

Brisbane: The Iron Ore Processing (Mineralogy Pty. Ltd.) Agreement Amendment Bill 2020 passed by the Western Australian Parliament destroys Australian democracy, Clive Palmer said today.

“It provides the Premier of Western Australia and his Attorney General exemption from the criminal law and all civil liabilities,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“The question must be asked what crimes have been committed or will be committed that require the Western Australian Parliament to exempt the Premier and the Attorney General from criminal prosecution?

“The Act bans any matter being taken to any Court.  So in that regard it would, in the theory, ban actions in the High Court of Australia. The Act also bans natural justice and proper process. It prohibits discovery and abolishes Freedom of Information, and hence the public’s right to know what this is all about and hold the Government accountable,’’ Mr Palmer said.

The Act terminates legal proceedings which were underway at the time of its passing in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, The Supreme Court of Queensland, The Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia.

The Act also terminates arbitration before former High Court Judge Michael McHugh QC and mediation before the former Chief Justice of Western Australia Wayne Martin QC that the State was a party to.

“The Act destroys Western Australia’s reputation as a place where the rule of law applies,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“The Act assumes full judicial power and directs and imposes sanctions against a single citizen that it names, and imposes penalties against that person based on what other people may do. No charge. No trial. No right of defence. No justice.

“Separately, the Act interferes with the Australian Government’s obligations to honour international treaties and gives the State the right to encumber an individual’s assets for its own benefit without any legal basis to do so,” Mr Palmer said.

“The Act gives the Premier the power to make laws without reference to Parliament. In essence, the Act allows the Premier to rule by decree.  North Korea in an Australian setting,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Our way of life and the Australian Constitution is all we have.  We cannot allow Mark McGowan and John Quigley to destroy it. Don’t believe their cover-up.

“First they have come for me. What will you do when they come for you?” Mr Palmer said

McGowan and Quigley Contempt of the High Court of Australia

Media release

McGowan and Quigley Contempt of the High Court of Australia

Clive Palmer will today commence proceedings in the High Court of Australia against Mark McGowan and John Quigley for contempt of the High Court of Australia.

“I understand it’s only the second time in Australia’s history that a proceeding for contempt has been brought before the High Court of Australia,” Mr Palmer said.

“I have been reluctant to bring such proceedings. Personally I bear no ill will towards Mark McGowan or John Quigley.

“But I must respect the institution of the courts, being the only institution in this country which stands between chaos and good order and that protects and defends the Australian Constitution and the welfare of all Australians,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“All Australians must be free to have access to our courts. Free from intimidation, fear or threats. Free from vitriolic abuse and violent rhetoric. Free from injury and damage should they seek to rely on the rule of law.

“They must be free from intimidation by government,’’ he said.

Palmer has no interest in bankrupting WA or McGowan

Media release

Palmer has no interest in bankrupting WA or McGowan

Clive Palmer stated in Brisbane today that he had no interest in bankrupting Mark McGowan or the State of Western Australia.

“Mark seems a bit upset,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“After all it was Mark who first attacked me relentlessly for eight weeks. Then he instigated the people of Western Australia to hate me so he could bring into law the greatest abrogation of human rights ever encountered in the history of Australia,’’ he said.

“It was Mark McGowan and John Quigley that increased the risk to the State by cancelling mediation with the former Chief Justice of Western Australia Wayne Martin.

“They will now face much greater damages and risk than ever existed before. They will soon find that out,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“They are nothing more than Keystone Cops who have given themselves an exemption from criminal laws and civil liability.

“They are Keystone Cops who have the people of Western Australia paying their bills and having to pay any damages that are awarded against them or the State.

As Winston Churchill said: ‘jaw-jaw is better than war-war’.

“It was Mark McGowan who declared war against me and did not want to talk or mediate.

“He can’t complain about the huge continuing financial risk he has placed him and the State in,’’ Mr Palmer said.
