Palmer video highlights truth behind Labor’s death tax risk

The Chairman of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, last night released a video highlighting the truth behind Labor’s death tax risk.

“I’m very concerned about the death tax Labor is proposing and we all know that death duties are a policy of the Greens.

“At the next election we will decide the government of Queensland and it is highly likely that if the Labor Party gets a chance of winning, they will be in coalition with the Greens.”

In the video, Mr Palmer reminds Queenslanders that for many years Wayne Swan wanted to redistribute wealth in Australia by taking from the people and giving it to government.

“You can’t afford to give Labor your children’s inheritance, it’s as simple as that,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“People may want to make fun of me or have a go at me personally, that’s not the issue.

“The issue is to make sure that the hard work Queenslanders have done over many years doesn’t go to the Labor Party, it goes to them and their children.

Mr Palmer said the Queensland Labor Government would justify the new tax to combat its $120 billion debt blowout.

“The only way Labor can reduce its debt is by taking from Queensland families. They are out of ideas and have no policies that can deliver growth and a strong economic future for this State,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Under a returned Labor Government, we will see family assets taken by the state. Our children and grandchildren will have assets chiselled out from them after the hard efforts and endeavours of those before them,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“We simply can’t risk a Labor death tax of 20% on all the assets we hold,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Labor’s sneaky plan to reopen the borders

Labor’s sneaky plan to reopen the borders

The deputy leader of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Anna Palmer, said today that Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk would open up the borders before this weekend’s election.

“The Premier is running scared as she knows my husband’s challenge in the High Court on November 3 and 4 will mean all borders have to open,’’ Mrs Palmer said.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk wants to open the borders now so she gets a few more votes but she should have done it three months ago.

“Politicians should be doing things that are right for society not things that they think will get them re-elected.”

“Labor has destroyed industry and robbed our children of future prosperity,’’ Mr Dowling said.

“The economy is teetering on a knife’s edge and our people are in mass unemployment. Our tourism industry has been decimated.

“Shame on Labor, shame on Annastacia Palaszczuk.

“Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party will leave stone unturned when elected to represent the people of Queensland and get the economy moving again,’’ Mrs Palmer said.

Clive Palmer will open the borders: Dowling

Leader of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Greg Dowling, said the Queensland borders would be opened as a result of the High Court Challenge being led by Clive Palmer.

“Labor has destroyed industry and robbed our children of future prosperity,’’ Mr Dowling said.

“The economy is teetering on a knife’s edge and our people are in mass unemployment. Our tourism industry has been decimated.

“I will leave no stone unturned when I am elected to represent the people of Townsville and get the economy moving again.

“I will need the community’s support on election day to end more destruction by Labor, together we can stop the death tax and open up the borders,’’ Mr Dowling said.

“Under Labor we have seen the debt blow out to $120 billion from $60 billion in just four years.

“We need a new deal for Queensland based on enterprise. Only Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party can cut the red tape, stimulate the economy and open the borders.

“In fact, we are the only party campaigning around re-opening the borders.

“Many of our children don’t feel like they have a future for themselves, that’s why we have to give Labor the boot,’’ Mr Dowling said.

Labor wilts under pressure: Clive Palmer

Labor wilts under pressure: Clive Palmer

Clive Palmer said today his pending High Court border challenge in early November had forced the Queensland Premier into scheduling next week’s reopening of the State.

“This is a serious back-down on her stance up until now,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Labor has wilted under pressure with Annastacia Palaszczuk in essence acknowledging that the borders should be reopened.

“The Premier has been campaigning in tourism areas and has seen first-hand what has been clear to everybody else for a long time, that tourism has been decimated by her party’s hard border stance.

“The timing is very interesting, with the announcement scheduled just before the State Election and the High Court challenge,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Mr Palmer said Queenslanders were fed up with the lack of compassion shown to families by Labor.

“Queenslanders are sick of the double standards when the Palaszczuk Government lets the AFL and movie stars like Tom Hanks into the State but denies families basic freedoms and dignity.

“I can’t believe that Labor and Queensland’s Chief Health Officer also stopped a young girl from visiting her dying father and then refused to allow her to go to his funeral.

“If that wasn’t bad enough, they also refused a pregnant woman medical treatment just because she came from New South Wales, causing her to lose her baby as she had to wait 16 hours to go to hospital.

“The human costs of the border closures has been severe with increased suicides and domestic violence spiralling out of control.

“Queensland needs a new deal,’’ Clive Palmer said.

Emergency action needed for emergency situation: Clive Palmer

Emergency action needed for emergency situation: Clive Palmer

Clive Palmer said it was a matter of urgency for Adelaide to be equipped with extracorporeal life support machines to bring it in line with other Australian capital cities.

“Adelaide children are equally important as all Australian children, every other capital city has these machines,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Mr Palmer has offered to buy five of the life support machines for Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital after a cluster of baby deaths due to a lack of access to cardiac facilities, a move rejected by SA Premier Steven Marshall.

“It’s a medical emergency I think we need emergency action,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Politicians are too reliant on the advice of professionals and need to make decisions that are in the best interest of the people they represent.

“In this case, professionals in other states have already advised on the use of these machines, where they are currently operational and saving lives,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“A start needs to be made to end needless deaths, family anguish and suffering,’’ he said.

Labor fails to muzzle Palmer

Media release

Labor fails to muzzle Palmer

Queensland Labor has failed spectacularly in its bid to silence Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party’s opposition to a death tax.

Campaigning with his wife, deputy leader Anna Palmer in Currumbin today, Mr Palmer said the anti-death tax ads had been returned to social media despite efforts by Labor to silence freedom of speech.

“Deputy Premier Steven Miles and Queensland Labor had made a complaint to Facebook about the ads, which were suspended briefly while Facebook investigated the complaint. Facebook’s investigation has resulted in all adverts being cleared and uploaded again.

“It was a spectacular failure by Labor to muzzle free speech,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“It was Labor that originally introduced the death tax.

“I stood with Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen when he abolished it in Queensland and we saw the immediate wealth created for the state when people from Victoria and New South Wales fled the Labor states for Queensland.

“Queensland become the number one economy, thriving as a result of the tyranny of southern Labor governments.

“One by one, other states followed in removing the death tax, as did the Federal Government.

Mr Palmer said the Queensland Labor Party would be profiting from death over plans to introduce voluntary euthanasia if re-elected.

He said Labor’s push for euthanasia on top of the risk of a Labor death tax should be a matter of concern for all Queenslanders.

Mr Palmer said Queenslanders should not be made to suffer as a result of Annastacia Palaszczuk’s incompetency and desire to return to the dark ages.

“We need a new deal for Queensland. Under the Greg Dowling-led team, Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party will deliver economic growth and prosperity once elected.”

Clive Palmer challenges Deputy Premier to debate

Clive Palmer challenges Deputy Premier to debate

Chairman of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, has challenged Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles to a public debate, so Queenslanders can hear Labor’s plans for getting the State’s $120 billion debt blowout under control.

“The Queensland Labor Government has tried to gag our party for suggesting they could introduce a death tax if re-elected.

“We know that the Greens and Labor had proposed to introduce a death tax at the last federal election in an effort to redistribute wealth, so how can we believe anything they say?

“In the last four years the Palaszczuk Government has doubled the State’s debt from $60 billion to $120 billion.

“The deputy leader Steven Miles has been critical of me so I would like to hear first-hand what his party’s plans are for economic recovery. Queenslanders have a right to know.

“Labor are out of ideas so they just keep trying the same things over and over again and expecting different results. That’s the definition of insanity.

“I will debate the Queensland Deputy Premier anywhere, anytime. Only Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party can end Labor’s destruction of the economy,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“We need a new deal for Queensland. Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party will deliver economic growth and prosperity once elected.

“We need to stop the death tax, cut the red tape, eliminate payroll tax and eliminate land tax to make our State stronger and more competitive, and provide employment for our people.

“I am looking forward to debating with the Deputy Premier over these important matters for Queensland’s future, should he accept my offer,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Greg Dowling ousts Jenny Hill and Labor Party plot

Greg Dowling ousts Jenny Hill and Labor Party plot

Leader of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Greg Dowling, said serious questions needed to be asked about whether Queensland Labor had been involved in covering up Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill’s involvement in a collision that killed a motorcyclist in January.

“We understand that Mayor Jenny Hill met with the Queensland Premier a few days after the accident to discuss serious potential charges,’’ Mr Dowling said.

“The tragedy occurred in the middle of a local election and yet the matter took until now, some nine months later, to reach the courts.

“A normal person would have been summoned to appear or charged straight away. Why did this take so long?

“The system is wrong. Serious questions need to be asked as to whether the Premier has any involvement in this delay,” Mr Dowling said.

“Due to the seriousness of this matter, Jenny Hill should resign as Mayor immediately while the investigation continues.

“I am also calling on the Crime and Corruption Commission to look into this matter. Queenslanders need to know the truth,” Mr Dowling said.

Labor tries to gag Anna Palmer

Media release

Labor tries to gag Anna Palmer

Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party has confirmed that Labor made a complaint to social media platforms to gag its deputy leader Anna Palmer over future death taxes.

Party Chairman Clive Palmer said that the Greens and Labor had proposed to introduce a death tax at the last federal election in an effort to redistribute wealth.

“Shifty Shorten in principle had agreed with this policy if he had been elected,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“In the last four years the Palaszczuk government has doubled the State’s debt from $60 billion to $120 billion.

“Our sources from treasury and close to Labor have told us that this State Government if re-elected will introduce a death tax.

“I personally believe this is why four Labor ministers have resigned recently,’’ he said.

Mr Palmer said Labor wanted to stifle debate and shoot down freedom of speech by requesting his party’s anti-death tax advertisement be removed from social media.

“The public has the right to know, Annastacia Palaszczuk is trying to control people in Queensland like Daniel Andrews has done in Victoria.

“Clive Palmer’s United Australia Part won’t be silenced.  We will speak up so Labor can be exposed

“We will direct the Queensland Investment Corporation to invest in Queensland rather than overseas to create growth, jobs and profits here,’’ Mr Palmer said.

Dowling to cut red tape

Media release

Dowling to cut red tape

Leader of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Greg Dowling, has vowed to cut red tape and taxes to get the Queensland economy moving again.

“We need a new deal for Queensland based on enterprise. We need to cut the red tape, eliminate payroll tax and eliminate land tax to make our State stronger and more competitive, and provide employment for our people.

“We will also ensure a death tax is never introduced in Queensland,” Mr Dowling said.

“We are running candidates in 55 seats to shake up the two-party duopoly and deliver a new deal for the State that brings economic prosperity for the long-term benefit of all Queenslanders,’’ he said.

“The current government is out of ideas, it doesn’t listen, it’s not interested in big projects and it has no idea about wealth creation,’’ Mr Dowling said.

“It’s time to give Labor the boot. In the last four years they have doubled the State’s debt from $60 billion to $120 billion.

“Labor is negative, they offer no drive and brightness of future. The Premier is only interested in votes and being re-elected for four years.

“Politicians should be working for the people not themselves.

“This Labor government is destroying the livelihoods of millions of people, and it’s time for a new deal,’’ Mr Dowling said.
