Retired firefighter and long-time North Queensland resident Peter Campion will contest the seat of Kennedy for the United Australia Party in the upcoming Federal Election.
Married to wife Tracey for 37 years, Peter has five adult children including Vikki Campion, the partner of Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce.
Mr Campion, 59, has been a career fireman, fire commander and fire investigator and an outstanding member of the Kennedy community.
He said he was motivated to join the United Australia Party to “take our democracy back at the next federal election.”
“At the last election Labor promised us a trillion dollars of debt and net zero by 2050 Now the LNP and their Labor alliance have delivered 1.3 trillion dollars of debt and net zero by 2050.
“Net zero means no jobs and no future for our community we have got to stop the Liberal/Labor alliance,” Mr Campion said.
