Born in Melbourne, Kristie spent the first 18 years of life growing up in the beautiful Yarra Valley region of Victoria. Her mother was a school teacher and father was a hardworking press shop manufacturing worker. She played many sports throughout her youth, including ballet, horseback riding, basketball, and high jump.
She moved to the Gold Coast at 19 years old in 1997 where she resided until 2014 when she moved to Bargara. She enjoyed the entrepreneurial spirit that the Gold Coast offered and soon started a promotions and modelling agency, that she ran from 1999-2004.
She was always very interested in marketing, and when social media hit the digital airways, she saw this as an opportunity to start a social media marketing consulting service for businesses.
In 2011 she became a registered foster carer to offer respite for kids in care. She loves her community and the lifestyle that the Bundaberg region offers. She can often be found with her son exploring the coast by mountain bike, or swimming at Kelly’s beach.
She’s always loved networking and taking part in initiatives that empower women and business startups. I started a networking group for Women in Biz – Bundaberg Region, which provides a platform for women to obtain and offer support to other women in business.
Kristie knows firsthand the needs of small businesses, and seeks to continue empowering them when elected.
