Desmond is a long-term resident of North Queensland with strong ties to the local community.
Of Indigenous heritage, he is passionate about issues of culture and diversity. Desmond was inspired to become a community leader by his grandfather who fought to protect Australia as a sergeant in WW2, then proudly continued to assist and develop indigenous communities in the Torres Strait Islands.
Desmond has been married to his wife for 22 years. They are the proud parents of seven children.
He has enjoyed success in a broad range of sectors including running his own business, retail, wholesale, education, youth-mentoring, mediation and a range of volunteer positions.
Desmond is results-oriented and invested in local issues. He is passionate about personal-choice, creating Australian jobs, bolstering the Australian Defence Force and protecting free speech.
He is running for the United Australia Party as a senate candidate in Queensland.
