Daniel Hannagan

Candidate for LEICHHARDT

Dan was born and raised in Cairns. He is proud to live in such a magnificent region and of his Far North Queensland heritage.

Dan has partaken in and continues to participate in a range of community activities. Community involvement has been a strong part of his life since his youth. His interest was firmly established and engaged from his very first volunteer experience, when his father took him to a Sporting Wheelies event where he manned a drink station during a race.

Dan is always one to volunteer for both iconic and lesser-known charity events, such as the Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride and Cairns to Cooktown Cardiac Challenge.

Dan has undertaken a variety of organisational memberships; he is an acting member of the Circular Economy FNQ (previously known as, the “Committee for Waste Reduction” – of which, he is the former Vice President and President), a Group Leader at the Freshwater Scouts Group and Former member of the Barrier Reef Toastmasters (Vice President – Education.)

Dan has been married for ten years and they have three young boys. His life with them is full of joy and certainly never dull, as all parents would understand!

There is a sentiment in the region that goes “in the Far North we are always forgotten” … under Dan’s watch, he will move Far North Queensland into a strong and bright future, where such sentiments will be firmly left in the past.
