Barbara-Jane has lived on the Central Coast for 6 years with her husband. They moved to the Central Coast from Sydney to be closer to family and the beach.

She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years, with 20 of those years in a hospital setting, and ten of those as a trained ICU nurse.

She then retrained in mental health/psychology as a counsellor and has spent the last ten years in the mental Health space in various roles, both face to face with clients and in a role managing mental health programs.

Her passion and ethos has always been to “help people,” and as her career has progressed to a management level she has been able to further that passion by making mental health programs equitable and accessible to those that need them across her community.

Recently she had to leave her job due to the current public health order. This was devastating to her.

“I am committed to changing the current situation and will work tirelessly to achieve this.” says Barbara-Jane about the tumultuous situation our country has found itself in.

“I have always dreamt of going into politics, so out of a negative experience comes a great opportunity and I am so happy and honoured to able to represent my community in the next federal election.”
