Nambour Christian College student and young gymnast, Karleigh Fraser, has been rewarded by the Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer MP, for her outstanding performance in the sporting arena.

Teenager Karleigh has been recognised with a Sport Achievement Award after her triumph in the WAG level 8 open division at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne.

As well as playing her part in a successful Queensland team at the championships, Karleigh took out gold on the vaults and bars, silver on the floor and gold overall.

“Karleigh’s performance has been outstanding and she is a worthy recipient of this sport achievement award,” said Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer.

“I understand she had surgery on her elbow just last year so for her to come back and take out a national title speaks volumes for her dedication, drive and commitment.

“Karleigh is a young athlete with a great future and I look forward to hearing of her future successes.”

The Australian Government Sport Achievement Award was introduced in 2002 to recognise outstanding sporting performance, achievements and contributions by community members all over the nation.
