Urgent steps needed to stop secret takeover of Australia: Burston

United Australia Party Senate Leader, Brian Burston, has called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to stop the secret takeover of Australia by Chinese communist government owned companies.

Senator Burston said it was beyond belief that the government had allowed Chinese state-owned companies extraordinary powers to build and operate strategic assets in WA such as constructing a jet airstrip in the Pilbara and exercising control over the deep water port at Cape Preston.

“I call upon the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister to explain how this could happen under a cloak of secrecy in Australia.

“The Australian Government needs to act urgently in taking back administration of this airport,’’ he said.

Senator Burston said serious questions needed to be asked as to how the airport was built under the government’s watch.

“Are Labor and the Liberals in this together? Why hasn’t the Australian public been informed of this?” he said.

“Australians have a right to know whether the airfield is similar to the ones the Chinese communist government has built in the South China Sea.

“It is horrific to see what’s happening and I will demand answers in parliament from both sides of government.

“Our politicians should be held in contempt as it is obvious they don’t care about Australians and the security of our country.

“Australians need to throw out Liberal and Labor at all levels of government.

“Vote 1 the United Australia Party, who will fight for the integrity of this country,’’ Senator Burston said.
