United Australia Party endorses Victorian candidates

Federal Leader of the United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, has announced the party’s endorsement of candidates for the Victorian seats of Isaacs, La Trobe and Dunkley for the 2019 federal election.

The candidates are real estate agent and former business manager Barry Prior (Isaacs), business operator and former government executive Duncan Dean (La Trobe) and naturopath Ronald Jean (Dunkley).

“We are delighted to be endorsing such outstanding candidates with a wide range of experience,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“With an excellent team behind us, the party is looking forward to building on its already strong parliamentary record to protect the Australian way of life,’’ he said.

Barry Prior has an extensive background in small business and technical/management experience in the military, serving as a commissioned officer in the RAAF.

His qualifications include Licensed Estate Agent and a Diploma of Teaching.

From 2006 to 2018, Duncan Dean was the owner and managing director of an inbound tour company.

He has extensive government experience having worked with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC) where he reached the position of Assistant State Manager and running a research consultancy in Australia and PNG.

He was also Assistant Director of the Victorian Road Transport Association based in Melbourne.

Ronald Jean runs his own naturopathic clinic as well as a chemical manufacturing company and has worked as a systems designer for numerous Australian businesses.

He has been an outspoken critic of the privatisation of essential services by previous LNP, ALP and local governments.

“The policies of successive governments have destroyed manufacturing and agriculture in Australia making them easy prey to foreign acquisition,’’ he said.
