Palmer United Party achieves record swing: Glenn Lazarus

Media release

Palmer United Party Senate leader and Queensland senator-elect Glenn Lazarus said the party had achieved the largest swing in Australia’s political history at 50.3 per cent in the seat of Fairfax.

“This remarkable achievement was because of the excellent policies of the party and the hope it offers all Australians,” Mr Lazarus said.

“The Palmer United Party has set a high standard that everyone should follow so it was disappointing that Campbell Newman as Premier attacked Clive Palmer today in what should have been a happy occasion.

“This was especially unfortunate because he was attacking and threatening him in respect of his personal business interests rather than debating his political policies.

“The Premier should concentrate on politics, not on persecution,” Mr Lazarus said.
