Former LNP life member Clive Palmer has called for the federal Liberal Party to consult with each other immediately to resolve its leadership uncertainty in the shortest possible time.
“The leadership must be clear cut so the country does not suffer from economic uncertainty,’’ Mr Palmer, the federal leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, said today.
“Australia has suffered for too long. Leadership battles are a massive distraction from the issues of real significance.”
Mr Palmer said Australia did not want a return to the Gillard-Rudd era of persistent leadership tensions.
“What matters is that this great country has stable leadership in order to guide future prosperity for its people.
“The Liberal Party needs to resolve its matter of leadership immediately,’’ Mr Palmer said.
