More federal funding is on its way to a Fairfax-based community organisation with the Naval Association of Australia Federal Council set to receive $10,000 under the 2014/15 Grants to National Organisations programme.

Administered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Grants to National Organisations programme aims to fund projects or activities by National Ex-service Organisations that address a specific issue and will achieve a clear benefit to the ex-service and defence communities.

Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer MP, said he was delighted that more Commonwealth dollars had been secured for his electorate.

“Many organisations rely on grants such as this to complete special projects or ensure their facilities are maintained, so I’m very pleased to see this application approved,” Mr Palmer said.

“I will continue to support similar funding applications and hope many more will be successful,” he added.

The grant comes hot on the heels of recent funding for work at an accident black spot in Kuluin, along with significant federal backing for the Buderim Men’s Shed Inc,Palmwoods District RSL Sub-branch and Nambour & District Historical Museum Assoc.
