Palmer United Party leader and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, has called on the Abbott Government to drop all plans for a co-payment and any increases in health charges.
Mr Palmer said all Australians, regardless of their economic circumstances must be allowed free access to hospitals and doctors whenever they need them.
“The Prime Minister must show leadership and take away the anxiety that many Australians feel with the proposal for a co-payment,” Mr Palmer said.
“Australians deserve a fair go.
“The Palmer United Party senators all agree that we will never support a co-payment in the Senate,” he said.
