Member for Fairfax Clive Palmer MP, is encouraging young people aged 16-23 who have a sense of adventure to consider applying to set sail on STS Young Endeavour.

The ballot to take a trip with Young Endeavour in the first half of 2016 is now open for young Australians and will close on October 5, 2015.

Mr Palmer said the chosen youths will participate in the Young Endeavour Youth Development Program.

“This is an internationally recognised program which aims to increase self-awareness, build self-confidence and develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills,” Mr Palmer said.

“The Program will also teach young people the skills they need to navigate and sail a tall ship while being supervised and supported by the Royal Australian Navy crew.

“More than 12,000 young Australians have voyaged on Young Endeavour over the last 25 years and it is an experience of a lifetime, one that will stay with participants forever.”

The 2016 voyage program will see STS Young Endeavour sail from Fremantle on January 12, 2016, and visit Esperance, Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne before returning to Sydney. STS Young Endeavour will then proceed to warmer northern waters and visit Newcastle, Brisbane and Gladstone.
