Moves by the Abbott Government to destroy universities and attack pensioners would destroy the very foundations of Australian life as we knew it, the federal leader of the Palmer United Party and Member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer, said in Brisbane today.
Mr Palmer said the Palmer United Party would oppose moves by the Abbott Government to ruin the lives of elderly Australians.
“The Abbott Government needs to do what is best for all Australians and what is in Australia’s national interest,’’ Mr Palmer said.
“Proposals to deregulate Australian universities were just a grab for cash and an attempt to follow a failed US education model.
“Australia needs an all-inclusive model which allows for and considers the needs of the whole of society.
“Australian students can’t pay more,’’ Mr Palmer said.
